Tarts
  1. Mix together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and brown sugar.
  2. Cut in lard until fine crumbs have formed.
  3. In separate bowl, beat together egg, vinegar and water.
  4. Add wet ingredients to crumbs. May need to add up to 1 tbsp additional cold water.
  5. Roll out pastry, adding additional flour to cut down grease (up to 1/4 cup).
  6. Using large cookie cutter, cut out tart shells and mold them into muffin tins.
  7. Fill shells 1/2 full with filling.
  8. Bake in 375-400 degree F oven for about 20 minutes.
