Ingredients
- 1 lb lard Maple Leaf Tenderflake
- 5 cup flour
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup water very cold

Instructions
- Combine dry ingredients in bowl.
- Using pastry cutter or knives, cut in the lard until coarse crumbs form.
- Wisk egg in cup measure then fill to 3/4 cup with cold water. Mix in vinegar.
- Add liquid mixture gradually to crumbs, one tablespoon at a time, stirring with fork until dough holds together when pressed.
- Press into a ball; divide in half and flatten into disks.
- Wrap disks in plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes or freeze for several months.
