Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup pecans chopped
- 2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
- Cream together butter and shortening.
- Gradually add sugars, creaming thoroughly.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- 4, In separate bowl, combine flour, soda and salt.
- Blend dry mixture into wet.
- Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
- Chill dough in fridge for 5 minutes.
- Drop batter by spoonfulls onto lightly greased baking sheets.
- With your hands, flatten cookies slightly and neaten edges to give even 1/2 inch thickness.
- Bake at 375 degrees F for 8 to 9 minutes, or until cookies are golden brown around the edges and still slightly underbaked in centre.
- Remove from oven and let stand on baking sheet for another 5 minutes.
- Remove to racks to cool completely.
