Ingredients
Nanaimo Bars
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 egg
- 2 cup graham wafer crumbs
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1/2 cup walnuts chopped
Filling
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tbsp custard powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp milk
- 2 cup icing sugar sifted
Icing
- 3 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate
- 1 tbsp butter

Instructions
Nanaimo Bars
- Mix together butter, sugar, cocoa, egg, graham crumbs, coconut and walnuts.
- Press into 9-inch square pan.
- Refrigerate while making filling.
- Spread filling over chilled base.
- Chill again.
- Once filling has firmly set, ice with chocolate icing.
- Chill until chocolate has set.
- Cut into bars and store refrigerated.
Filling
- Cream together butter, custard powder and vanilla.
- Gradually blend in milk and icing sugar alternately until smooth.
Icing
- Melt chocolate and butter together.
