Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/3 cup water boiling
- 2 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
- Beat butter until soft.
- Add sugars and beat until fluffy. White sugar can be substituted for the same amount in brown sugar.
- Add vanilla, flour, and salt. Mix well.
- Disolve baking soda in boiling water and blend into mixture.
- Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
- Roll into balls and flatten with a fork on a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
